Back in NYC

Back in NYC

Flying over JFK. Oddly, we had a airbus - the old school truck-people-mover things that drive up to the plane in place of the expandable drawbridge. I thought I'd go swimming at the pool and meet friends after. Instead, I watched Lost and passed out and didn't see anyone.

Williamsburg Bridge.
The next day I walked across the bridge with my good friend.

At a bar called Iona's.

Ike won't let his photo be put on the internet.

Kristen and Andrea and Jesse and I went to McCarren Park. It was 90 out.

There are a lot of these trees in the neighborhood. Their flowers are great, but I don't know what they are. Does anyone know what they are?

Lauren and Red/Kristen

Damien and I forget-his-name

Biking to Fort Tildon (The Beach!)

Hairy (I prefer the term hirsute), out of shape, and yes, I'm touching my nipple. Uh huh.

So today it was 90 and we decided to go to the beach - Fort Tildon.

Problem: It was fucking FREEZING there. I took my beach blanket and turned it into a cloak. Wade and Laurel used each other as blankets. Jesse... we just left him in the cold.

Then we went to the bunker.

It was pitch black inside. I took pictures of interiors I couldn't see. Thought that would be a neat horror movie trope.

This is an amazing tropical fruit. There's a guy deep in a Brooklyn who sells tropical fruits. Whenever I bike to the beach, I stop by on the way back and get a coconut. He chops it open and serves the coconut 'milk' (which really should be called water) and then chops the rest of and serves you the meat.

Anyway, he had this amazing fruit. I think he called it a 'nani.' It tastes like a tropical apricot. Anyone else know it?

So now we're to the present. Mark and Yoko are here, right now, as I write (type) this. We're all 'working', which in my case, means fuck around with Facebock.

don't worry, i won't put up your friends on lookatthisfuckinghipster.com. without your permission at least :D

troy swain half nekkid and lookin delicious.

speaking of delicious, that fruit looks like a chesa/tiessa/cheza. not sure though. is the fruit a little powdery? If so, I hated them when I was a kid. I don't think I've had any as an adult.

Why the hatin', Wendy?

And that fruit was amazing so I think it's different. It tasted a LOT like apricots, but, and this is hard to describe, but like tropical apricots. It had kind of a papaya texture, and it was really sweet with a slight tang.

Aw, Red!

It makes me more happy than it should to see you guys wearing bike helmets. But I feel strongly about brain-injury prevention.

Which is to say, you and Red and I should definitely hang out more, especially since movie night seems to have disappeared.

I got sick of fucking movie night. Moving it to Bridget was a mistake, but now I no longer want to bring it back to my place.

Bridget was a sucky venue for it--couldn't really focus/interact. For what it's worth, I'd be stoked to check out another movie night, especially in a more cohesive space. In fact, if my dream for a utopian loft comes true this august, you'll be invited to do it there....

Great pictures. I always like seeing people having fun, and it looks like you excel at having fun. I was at that very beach(the pillbox gave it away) the other day doing a surf check as surfing is my passion and I need to find a local break closer than Jersey. What neighborhood do you live in. I am new here and don't know my way around at all. If it isn't within 4 blocks of central park, times square, hells kitchen, tribeca, and the village, I don't know anything. I'm learning my way around Manhattan, but it is a slow process.

I need to tell you that I really enjoy your posts:)

There's a surf shop in Williamsburg that my friends go to called Mollusk... wait... here's the site:
http://mollusksurfshopnyc.com/

They can tell you were to go. I know a lot of surfers go to Far Rockaway, but other friends say it's too crowded. The crowd at Mollusk will probably steer you right.

Everyone comes to this neighborhood for the nightlife, which means that I now avoid my own neighborhood at night. I stay pretty much exclusively with house parties or quieter bars, or even better: a cafe.

I've never been to Chicago, so I wouldn't know!

And I have no muscle tone and side handles about the size of a bike tire. That shit needs to go. It WILL be gone in a month or two.
